Celebrating 30 years
2024 marks 30 years of business for Leighton Investment Services. We celebrated this on August 29 with a client appreciation event at Central College, featuring various educational breakout sessions followed by dinner and a keynote address. Upon arriving, guests were given a name tag featuring a star, which represented the length of time they had been clients with LIS, many indicated 10, 15, or 20 years and some wearing stars that represented being clients from the start of its business 30 years ago.
Breakout Sessions
The breakout sessions before dinner provided information on various topics, including information on retirement, planning, risk mitigation, tax-efficient investing, and economic updates. Representatives from Global Atlantic, Protective, Franklin Templeton, First Trust, Russell Investments, Horizon, and First Eagle were in attendance, offering their insight and speaking on behalf of their company.
Special Guest Speaker
The event came full circle when Mark Ellingson, the founder of the practice and retired LIS Financial Advisor, spoke on how he got his start in the industry and the various transitions he faced throughout his career – including his connection to Leighton State Bank, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc, and many more. Mark’s speech was humorous, moving, and educational – an appropriate way to celebrate the relationships built with our clients over the past 30 years.
