LSB Knoxville Construction to Begin

Leighton State Bank is excited to announce that a building permit has been issued for a full-service banking facility at 209 South Lincoln. This news follows the conditional approval of the site plan during the Knoxville City Council meeting on Monday, August 19.

The new 3,750-square-foot building will replace the current branch on the Knoxville square and will feature drive-up lanes, an outdoor 24-hour ATM, and safe deposit boxes.

“On behalf of the board, staff, and ownership of LSB, I am excited to formally announce plans to construct a new full-service banking facility on South Lincoln Street in Knoxville.  A highly functional and convenient new facility was our dream and plan when we announced the bank’s expansion to Knoxville in 2023. We are now excited to see that dream come to fruition as we put down permanent roots and break ground for a modern and attractive facility,” said Steve Fopma, LSB President & CEO. “Our excitement, however, continues to be much beyond the facility – our true excitement comes from being an active part of providing quality financial resources and services for the growing and thriving Knoxville community delivered by staff who call Knoxville ‘home.’ We look forward to formally welcoming you to an open house at the new facility in 2025, and in the meantime, we welcome you to check us out at our present location at 207 E. Main Street.”

Bank Officer Jim Baker said, “For the past year, our staff in Knoxville has had the privilege to work with the community of Knoxville while serving their banking needs. As a native of Knoxville, I am proud of our thriving community and the opportunities that surround us. With Leighton State Bank’s expansion into the Knoxville community and the announcement of our new location, we will continue to provide the community of Knoxville with financial services today and for years to come.”

A formal groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place during the week of August 26. Construction will continue through spring and early summer of next year, with a grand opening planned for the summer of 2025.
